Edna Cox Social Justice Bursary

The Edna Cox Social Justice Bursary celebrates the next generation of community builders—students who are already showing a heartfelt commitment to social justice, community development, and local food security. This bursary is awarded to a graduating Alberni District Secondary School student who has engaged in this work, whether through a Social Justice class, hands-on involvement in a school or community garden, or volunteer efforts that uplift vulnerable members of our community.

The Alberni Valley Food Security Society is warmly accepting donations toward this year’s Edna Cox Social Justice Bursary. Your support helps nurture young people who care deeply about food security and community well-being—values that strengthen the Alberni Valley today and for generations to come.

Make a donation below and and together we can foster a caring, food-secure community by investing in the students who are already helping make it possible.

The AV Food Security Society operates within the ancestral, unceded and traditional territory of the Hupačasath and Tseshaht First Nations. We seek to increase our understanding of indigenous food systems and respectfully acknowledge the keepers of this land.
