Dry Creek Community Garden
In our community garden, Alberni Valley Food Security Society provides opportunities for connection to food, earth and community. We plan to use this space for educational opportunities, public events, seed preserving efforts and more.

About the Garden
The Dry Creek Community Garden was established in 2013 with the goal of creating and maintaining a growing area adjacent to Dry Creek Park. The space includes rental plots, communal growing allotments, social spaces and perennial & annual plantings.
In 2022 the Alberni Valley Food Security Group gratefully acquired the lease from the City of Port Alberni. We began managing the property with the aim of administering this amazing asset to the citizens of the Alberni Valley.

Join the Garden
Our garden is a shared space for local growers to connect, cultivate fresh food, and care for the land together.
Each garden bed renter is expected to contribute time toward the upkeep and success of the garden — whether that’s helping with communal areas, assisting with events, or lending a hand during work bees. This cooperative effort keeps our garden thriving for everyone.
This form below serves as both a waitlist and screening application. When a plot becomes available, the Garden Manager will contact you with next steps to complete the full rental process.
