DCCG Rental Agreement

Welcome to Dry Creek Community Garden (the "Garden" or "DCCG") please review the garden rules and responsibilities and complete the form below to secure your plot rental for 2026. 

Please contact garden@avfood.ca if you have any questions or you would like to make alternate arrangement to complete and/or submit payment for garden rental.

DCCG Rental Rules

Please view a copy of the complete Dry Creek Community Garden Rental Terms, Conditions and Rules You will also be emailed a copy upon rental payment 

1. Access

  • Garden open year-round; use only between dawn and dusk.

  • Keep shed code secure; lock the shed if you’re the last to leave.

2. Garden Plots

  • Use only your assigned plot and keep plants within boundaries.

  • Grow vegetables, fruits, and flowers—no toxic, invasive, or shading plants.

  • Use organic methods only; get approval before applying any products.

  • Water responsibly; don’t leave hoses running.

  • Maintain your plot: weed, harvest, keep paths clear, remove trash.

  • Compost organic waste properly (cut to 4" pieces).

  • Inform the Garden Manager if away for more than 3 weeks.

  • Don’t store personal items; abandoned items may be removed.

3. Common Areas & Responsibilities

  • Shared tools must be cleaned and returned immediately after use.

  • Report broken or unsafe tools/equipment.

  • Keep paths and common spaces tidy.

  • All gardeners are expected to help with vandalism or storm cleanup.

  • Participation in communal garden work parties is expected (or equivalent commitment) 

4. Communication

  • Garden Manager has authority over rules and decisions.

  • Please contact the Garden Manager for day-to-day issues.

  • Personal information is used only for garden operations.

5. Conduct Expectations

  • Be respectful and cooperative with staff, gardeners, and neighbours.

  • Supervise children under 16; guests must follow all rules.

  • Do not enter, use, or harvest from other plots without permission.

  • No smoking, vaping, substances or disruptive behaviour in the garden.

  • No selling produce; garden is for personal use only.

  • All signage will be administered and displayed by Garden Manager

6. Problems, Disputes & Enforcement

  • Bring concerns or conflicts to the Garden Manager/Coordinator.

  • Serious violations (safety, theft, drugs, illegal plants) can cause immediate removal.

  • For other violations, gardeners receive a warning and one week to correct the issue.

  • After termination, gardeners have two weeks to harvest and clean their plot.

  • No refunds or compensation for termination.

7. Other

  • Rules may be updated at any time.

  • All waivers must be in writing, administered by Garden Manager
